Cognitive Health check-ups:

  • Cognitive health check-ups are cognitive and mental health screens which target brain health and impact life satisfaction and quality of life across a lifespan.  Establishing a cognitive baseline and early detection is key to preventing or slowing the progression of cognitive or mental decline and keeping your brain healthy (American Congress of Lifestyle Medicine).

  • If you have a history of sport-related concussions, traumatic brain injury, family history of Alzheimer’s Disease/dementia, or other neurologic conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, or brain tumor, an annual check-up of cognitive and mental health may be important.

Neurocognitive Assessment:

  • STEM utilizes tele-neuropsychological testing to evaluate a broad range of cognitive and behavioral issues resulting from brain dysfunction or mental health problems to develop an individually-tailored intervention for you. Our expertise is in the assessment of concussion, traumatic brain injury, stroke, vascular disease, tumor resection, dementia, and other common cognitive problems.

  • Our testing services can help measure, test and assess brain-behavior relationships as they relate to attention, processing speed, learning and memory, language, and other higher-level cognitive abilities.

Psychological Assessment:

STEM utilizes tele-psychological testing to evaluate a broad range of mental health problems including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use disorders, chronic pain, and insomnia.

Additional Evaluations:

Another valuable service we offer is establishing the consequences of a person's brain injury or disorder on everyday functioning:

  • School Performance

  • Vocational implications

  • Independent living

  • Compensatory strategies

Advantages of Assessment:

Assessments describe a patient's current abilities with reference to other people of a similar education, age, gender and ethnic background, and also with respect to how those abilities translate into real-life situations and life management potentials.

Different tests have been developed to respond to specific referral questions arising from diverse patient populations, ranging from attention problems to traumatic brain injuries to Alzheimer's disease. Tests may also help to document cognitive changes occurring during the course of disease or treatment.
